It is that time of year again!  Midterms are upon us.  I gave a study/review guides to all my grade 7s and 8s two weeks ago and have talked to them all about study skills and exam preparation and even made a study schedule on our Google calendars for them.  So here are a few tips to help get started.  Also see the STUDYING tab on my blog as well as the GRADE 7 or GRADE 8 tabs for more resources.

Click on MIDTERM SCHEDULE to view along with other important dates

  • Study your review booklets and tests.
  • If you did not get 5/5 make sure to complete the review book
  • Do the review questions at the end of each module
  • Make a vocabulary list or flashcards and test yourself
  • Do practice tests online at Edquest (English)
  • Study your review booklets which should include your foldables, quizzes and
  • tests for all chapters
  • Any foldable that was not 100% please finish them or start a new one on a blank piece of paper. Foldables are not permitted during midterms and final exams but formulas will be provided.  You will need a simple calculator (no ipods/phones can be used)
  • Correct your quizzes and tests
  • Do the Mathletics tests online
  • Read over your notes and make flashcards/study guide of vocabulary and important information
  • Use the study guide list as a checklist of your skills
